Workshop: Data-Intensive Research -- How should we improve our ability to use data

Category: Project, home

Register now for the Data-Intensive Research workshop at the e-Science Institute, Edinburgh, 15-19 March. This workshop will collect experts in areas of Data-Intensive Research to share perspectives and identify research challenges and strategies.

Proposed outcomes of the meeting include:
1.    A proposal for a Data-Intensive Research theme for the e-Science Institute.
2.    Groups committed to continue working together on specific Data-Intensive Research and to joining in a theme if it is supported, e.g. researchers with a practical challenge working with theorists and technologists to explore a specific category of challenges or strategy that emerged during the workshop.
3.    A map of the research challenges and potential routes through them with flags indicating where groups and individuals are working and what they plan. This will draw attention to identified gaps.

The tutorials on the first day are open for anyone to attend. Days 2-5 are by invitation only. Learn more at http://www.nesc.ac.uk/esi/events/1047/. The registration deadline is March 8th. Space is limited to 100 participants.
